Year 4 Semester 2 MChem - Teaching Assistant Support AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN BY TEACHING
Since 2012 the department has invited 4th Year MChem students to support our teaching and learning of the junior years in Semester 2. Many have taken up the invitation and have given positive feedback about the experience.
Key details are noted below:
- Your role would be to support (i.e. in addition to) existing academic and PG teaching assistant support.
- Typically your support would be either in laboratory demonstrating or workshop support.
- These roles are voluntary and will be rewarded with Graduate Passport Points (if you are part of this programme) and a sense of achievement.
- Once you have agreed a support format you should remain committed to the agreed provision (i.e. by being a reliable contributor).
If you are interested in this opportunity please contact Colin Flowers (C.M.Flowers@soton.ac.uk) and:
- Express your interest.
- Indicate any preference you have for the type(s) of support (i.e. Laboratory/Workshop).
- Indicate any preference you have for the area(s) of chemistry (i.e. Inorganic/Organic/Physical).
Please get in touch at the start of the (calendar) year, before the end of the first week of the Spring term.
After this date course coordinators will get in touch based upon the preferences that you have expressed.
