Answer 13

The equation of a straight line is y = mx + c.
For a set of linear data, m has been determined as 2.2 ± 0.1 m-3 and c has been determined as 0.8 ± 0.2 g m-3.
When x = 4.70 ± 0.05 g, y = 11.1 ± 0.8 g m-3

Question 14

If    Z = (A - B)/(C - 5D)

    and    A = 15.4 ± 0.3,    B = 2.3 ± 0.1,    C = 12.7 ± 0.2,    D = 1.7 ± 0.1

        it can be calculated that    Z = 3.1 ± 0.7

Using worst case scenarios, calculate the value of Z with its associated error. Does your result agree with that stated above?
